The betting sites listed in the table above are our top 10 picks out of all of the sites reviewed. But what makes a great betting site? In our eyes factors include:

• Free Bets - Pretty self explanatory, especially considering we're primarily a free bets site. We like bonuses.
• Frequent Promotions - Does your betting site offer newbies lots of tasty promotions but leave you out in the dark? For shame! We like sites that have plenty of ongoing and event specific promotions - money back specials, free bets and enhanced odds are all things that get out motors running.
• Loyalty Program - Think of a nectar card for betting. Reward schemes are becoming more common at online betting sites, which we thinking is a great thing. (NB: We also have a guide to betting loyalty programs)
• Good Odds - Freebies are all well and good, but if the odds are terrible you're probably not going to come out on top in the long run.
• Payment Methods - Unless a betting site has a decent way to get your money into it (and winnings out of it) it's about as much use as a chocolate tea pot. We particularly like PayPal.
• Usability - If our reviewers (who are all seasoned bettors) spend 10 minutes fumbling around trying to place an accumulator at a site, it's probably not very user friendly. And this includes actually being able to access the damn site 24 hours a day.
